Black Mental Health and Wellness
Durham Family and Cultural Centre will be hosting an interactive and informative workshop on Black Mental Health and Wellness!
The physical and mental health of the Black community remains an important topic of conversation due to the intersection of racism and mental health. Participants will take part in engaging dialogue and discussions on the impact of mental health in our daily lives. We will discuss empowering and useful strategies to take charge of our health and wellness, one day at a time! We will destigmatize the often uncomfortable topic of mental health in the Black community by allowing participants to share their unique experiences in a safe space. Our workshop will address the stigma of mental health through open discussions on how Black families can seek support and connect to culturally responsive mental health care.
