They Passed This Way
This presentation encompasses a pictorial journey of Freedom Seekers and Black Loyalists who established settlements throughout Canada.
Sylvia and Carolyn Wilson are direct descendants of early Black settlers. They are also the c-owners of the Black History and Cultural Museum and residents of Collingwood. Sylvia is an accomplished musician and piano teacher for fifteen years. Sylvia is also an artist and legal secretary. Carolyn is a former Elementary and Special Education teacher for Simcoe Board of Educations. Both Carolyn and Sylvia are involved in community outreach and have received several awards including recognition from the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women’s organization. Sylvia and Carolyn also serve on the Unity Collective promoting diversity and inclusivity.
