We live in challenging times with many people feeling intense anxiety and other Mental Health concerns related to COVID-19 and other health and mental health inequities. This includes young people. The workshop intends to give some understanding of mental health and wellness concerning our current life experiences. The hope is that
- participants would have a better account of mental health and wellness at the end of the workshop, and
- become familiar with some powerful tools (some decolonized and indigenous) in managing life stressors.Dr. Leonard Edwards is a Registered Clinical Social Worker, Lecturer & Course Developer with more than 10 years experience in the human service field. Dr. Edwards completed his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from York University, his Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto, and his Ph.D. in Social Justice and Education from Lancaster University, UK.
Dr. Edwards is a therapist and healing educator in private practice providing psychotherapy and counseling (strong emphasis on decolonizing therapy) with BIPOC adults living with mental health and other life challenges.
