Cultivating Self-Love, Self-Empowerment and Acceptance
The Black experience is often fraught with societal pressures, stereotypes and systemic injustices that can lead to the internalization of negative beliefs and perceptions about oneself. Through open and honest discussions, we will confront these challenges head-on and shed light on the ways in which internalized racism manifests in our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.
Moreover, we will explore the importance of self-love, self-compassion, and self-empowerment as essential tools for combating the harmful effects of internalized racism and nurturing our mental and emotional well-being. Drawing upon principles of mindfulness, self-reflection, and self-care, we will learn practical strategies for cultivating a deeper sense of self-acceptance, resilience and empowerment.
Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the impact of internalized racism on their lives and explore pathways, often non-linear to healing and growth. Ultimately, this lunch and learn session will serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of self-love, self-empowerment, and acceptance in our journey toward personal and collective liberation.
