Social Connections for Senior Mental Health
Social Connect is a free weekly in-person and virtual social gathering every Tuesday at 11 AM in Northeast Scarborough where seniors 55+ meet around culturally relevant activities to talk, dance, exercise, drum, sing and enjoy Caribbean-style lunches. Mr. Dennis Isaacs, volunteer with the Joint Coalition Accessing Needs www.jcan.life is one of the facilitators of the Social Connections weekly program that combats social isolation for Seniors’ mental health. He will discuss the origins of the program, how it has grown, and the positive experiences of participants who enjoy a variety of activities, year round.
