Surviving COVID While Black
The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating health and economic impacts. However, the loss of family members, repeated lockdown measures and general uncertainty caused by the pandemic has significantly affected the mental health of our youth. Moreover, the repeated displays of disregard for Black lives has exacerbated the emotional, mental and spiritual toll on the entire Black community. Surviving COVID While Black is an opportunity to check-in on each other as a community, flow into guided breathwork and meditation, and share our tools and practices for mental wellness and personal care. Art+Health is an arts-based mental health non-profit that uses art and storytelling to approach conversations and education on mental health and wellness to the Ethiopian and Eritrean communities. Presented in partnership with the City of Toronto's Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit
