Bio:
Amma Gymfowa BSW, MSW, RSW
Amma Gyamfowa is a Ghanaian-Canadian womanist therapist, and social worker. Engaged in the field of social work for the last 8 years, her work has been rooted in supporting young Black womxn, and survivors of gender-based violence. With a demonstrated history of meaningful engagement in community development, she has innovatively cultivated and advanced diverse programs and initiatives across the Greater Toronto Area. She currently leads Women's Health in Women's Hands (CHC) netWORKING Mentorship Program for Black womxn. Amma is also the Founder of Womanist Healing Counselling Services, prioritizing mental health counselling and therapeutic supports through a holistic, Black feminist and Afrocentric lens to healing, mental wellness and liberation.Â
