Where Faith and Mental Health Meet (VIRTUAL)
A practical and realistic view of the interface between a person’s life of faith and the personal, familial, racial, cultural, social, and political factors that work together to determine the mental health and wellbeing of the Black person and his or her relationships.
This overview examines and refutes movements within the evolving Western cultures that have separated a person’s spiritual life from their mental health. It invites the Black person to reclaim an authentic and integrated view of self that validates and incorporates both the spiritual and subjective lived experiences into the process of developing and maintaining good mental health and relationships.
